My MIL Kicked Me Out of the House Because I Refused To Wash Her Clothes

We got a letter from a young woman who just became a wife and a mom.

But, unfortunately, this happy time isn’t all sunshine and rainbows because they’re dealing with money issues, so they have to move in with her in-laws.

Right from the beginning, her relationship with her mother-in-law has been a bit rocky.

This is Rain’s letter
Thanks for sharing your story, Rain! We’ve got some tips that we think might help you out.

Talk to your husband.
Pick a peaceful day and a quiet spot where you won’t be interrupted. Speak in a calm manner, avoiding any drama or blame.

Your husband might not really get how serious things are.

Share your feelings and worries with him honestly.

Seek help from a psychologist.
You’ve got a pretty tricky situation on your hands since it involves you, your husband, and your mother-in-law.

Talking to a psychologist might be a good idea—they can help you figure out how to make things work with your mother-in-law while still keeping things solid with your husband.

Consider rental housing options.
If your marriage is in trouble, it might be time to consider some drastic steps to try to fix it. Check out the rental market and maybe talk to a lawyer.

You could find some temporary place to live and distance yourself from your mother-in-law.

It might be a bit tough on your wallet, but it could help you save your family, and you can always bounce back when your kid gets a bit older.

Consider moving in with your parents.
Your husband might be cool with the idea of moving out from his mom’s place and staying with your folks.
You did it for him, right? It could make things a lot easier for you when you’re just starting out with the baby.

Plus, down the line, you could get your own place.

Let’s be real, though—mother-in-law relationships aren’t always a walk in the park!
