Little Johnny Asked A Lot Of Questions To His Teacher

Little Johnny, a seventh grader known for his curiosity, often posed numerous questions to his teacher.

One day, he asked his English teacher a perplexing query about silent letters in words like “hour” and “honour.”

His teacher explained, “We’re not ignoring them; they’re considered silent.” Confused, Johnny remained puzzled.

Later, during lunch, the teacher asked Johnny to heat her packed meal in the cafeteria. Johnny, misunderstanding due to the silent ‘h’ in ‘heat,’ ate all the food and returned the empty container.

Bewildered, the teacher asked why he hadn’t heated the food as instructed. Johnny innocently replied, “Madam, I thought ‘H’ was silent.”

This amusing incident humorously illustrates the challenges of English pronunciation and pays tribute to dedicated English teachers.
