The boy hadn’t spoken for almost three years, but during his father’s funeral, he turned to his grandmother and said something terrible

One autumn evening, his mother left home and never returned. He was then told that she was no longer with him. The boy was still too young to understand the full weight of the loss, but from that day on, he stopped talking.

Not a word – not with his grandmother, not with his father, not with anyone.

The doctors threw up their hands: “Psychological trauma…”

His father raised him alone, sometimes leaving him in the care of his grandmother. She tried to surround her grandson with care, but the boy remained withdrawn, holding a teddy bear in his hands – the same one that his mother gave him on the last birthday they spent together.

His father recently passed away. For Dana, this was the second blow, but he still silently stayed close to his grandmother.

The day of the funeral was cold.

People approached the coffin, saying goodbye. Danya stood nearby, clutching his teddy bear in his arms. He wasn’t crying, wasn’t shaking – as if what was happening had nothing to do with him.

But suddenly he looked up, turned to his grandmother and quietly but clearly said something unexpected.

– It’s him…

The voices around him died down. – He… – the boy raised his hand and pointed at a man standing to the side, among the guests.

– Because of him, Mom and Dad left. A dead silence reigned in the hall.

The grandmother turned pale, and several people involuntarily turned to look at the one Danya was accusing.

The man froze, his face turned white. Later, when the police got involved, it turned out that the boy, when he was very young, had seen this man, a distant relative, arguing with his mother. He had seen something that his brain had repressed.

But the memory, like a lock, opened at the moment when he stood by his father’s coffin.

The investigation confirmed the worst suspicions: the parents had been k-i-lled for the sake of the inheritance. And the next in line to receive the property was the grandmother…

She hugged her grandson tightly, realizing that it was his sudden words that saved her life.
